TOP 9 BEST HOTELS I'VE BEEN TO

Hi ! Today I am so excited as I come to you with a complete different kind of article : a top 9 of my favorite hotels around the world. This is the first part of a 2-articles-topic, so stay tuned !

1. BANYAN TREE BANGKOK

Swimming pool on the roof

This hotel is, I guess, my favourite ever.

Our room was at the 41st floor so we could see the sun rising all over the city. The rooftop Vertigo Bar is sensational (such a privilege to have this amazing bar in our hotel), the hotel owns 3 different restaurants, the open air pool is gorgeous, the breakfast offers everything you could ever wish for, the interior design is remarkable, the service is flawless. Long story short : Best.hotel.ever (the location isn't that central but I promise, paying a cab is worthy).

I sweaaaar, my article about Bkk is coming soon!

2. RADISSON BLU DJERBA

Okay, this hotel is a giant resort that you could call a city by itself. It offers 2 pools, 2 restaurants, 1 private beach, 1 Furterer hairdresser, 1 clothing shop, 1 souvenir shop, 1 spa, 1 nautical activities center, 1 shuttle service ...

and I may be even forgetting some.

And everything inside is just so beautiful.

What made it more unique than other resorts : delicious food and infinite buffet meals, beach with translucide water, hairdresser and giant spa (how comfortable is that?), perfect service and devoted staff.

Besides, you can watch a nice sunrise from Radisson's beach !

3. HAAD TIEN KOH TAO

Haad Tien's main pool

Haad Tien is such a charming village on Koh Tao island in Thailand.

You must have read it here already but I've fallen in love with its long pool on the beach, looking like even. Room inside a wooden hut, delicious food at the Thai restaurant (though it owns several), rich breakfast, scuba diving center, 24/24h open reception, affordable prices for a luxury hotel.

What I liked the most : Haad Tien is located on the Shark Bay and has literally privatized the beach for the clients. You get an empty heaven just for yourself and can also spend the day snorkelling, kayaking or paddling !

(When you book, make sure you get a room at Haad Tien Beach Resort not at Beach club by Haad Tien, less expensive, but such a less nice part of the hotel with less pretty rooms and far access to breakfast and main pool)

4. MARITIM HOTEL GALATZO MALLORCA

One of Galatzo's pools

We got such a pleasant stay at Maritim Galatzo due to its indescribable charm and peacefulness. I have to admit the room is a bit too small but for the rest : waking up with the sun rising over the cliff in front of us is unforgettable, the white curves of the design of this hotel, the great breakfast and dinner buffets and the 2 pools are also a big advantage to this hotel. Its location is also great : 25min from Palma by car and 10min from Portals Vells beach, not further than 20-30min to other clear blue water beaches !

5. VILNIUS GRAND RESORT

Vilnius Grand Resort in summer

Alright, this place must be the cheapest luxury hotel in Europe we ever slept in though it's great (circa 100€ for a 2 ppl room/night) !

Huge resort, offering a lake (yes, you read well, a private like where you can rent a pedal boat) that even freezes in winter for more magic, a restaurant on stilts, a large princess-ish dining room with great breakfast, a golf course, giant bedroom (most comfy bed I ever tried), very big and furnished gym, and most importantly : a beautiful spa with very affordable face and body treatments. We loved this place so much that we came back 6 month later !

6. DIMORA DI MATELLO MATERA

View from the balcony

I know I talked about this place already in one of my previous article about Matera but, oh well, never enough for such a beautiful place!

The story of how we ended up in Matera is funny : I was once chilling on Pinterest, looking for "beautiful interior designs" when I found a picture of this hotel. I made a research about this image, looking forward to know who could live in such a unique place when I actually found out it was an hotel and I could also sleep in this room ! 1 hour later, Dan and I had booked our tickets.

La Dimora Di Matello is a small place with surprising design, rooms are built in a sort of caves.

The atmosphere is very intimate and familial, the manager is very helpful though she doesn't speak that good English (take your best Italian out! haha). The balcony offers a view on this ancient lost city that is so worthy to see ! Also, only 45min away from the famous Alberobello's trullis ! (you can book your driver at the hotel reception if you don't have a car - as you can't park your car in Matera old center)

7. ORCHID REEF EILAT

Okay I have to admit it's a nice hotel but what made it truly enjoyable to me is that we booked a room with a private pool !

Beside the "Deluxe double room with pool access", the hotel has a direct access to a private beach, with a good mediterranean food restaurant, great breakfast, and 5 minutes away from Eilat's city center by car.

8. AUBERGE DU JEU DE PAUME CHANTILLY

Jeu de Paume hotel is soooo charming and recognized as a Relais & Châteaux hotel. It is so perfect for a romantic weekend outside Paris, 5min walking distance from Chantilly castle!

It is kind of "old French architecture" style (this is what we like, right!), everything is so chic and elegant and meant for you to do nothing but relax. We loved the spacious bedroom, the spa, and the delicious restaurant.

9. ES CORTE VELL

This is the cutest and most authentic hotel I have been to. Lost on the hill of a small village in Mallorca, this hotel offers a great service, such beautiful and coloured rooms, breakfast by the pool and the consistent sing of the cicadas and birds. We got upgraded to a bigger room with no supplementary fee cause the manager is so great (I know I told you this already here, but worthy to repeat haha !)

... & FEW MORE HOTELS GREAT TO SIP A DRINK

LEBUA BANGKOK

Lebua is Bangkok's most famous rooftop (though, not better than Banyan to me), splendid place to sip a (super expensive) cocktail at sunset hour. Offering two or three different bars and restaurants, definitely worth to visit when in Bangkok !

W HOTEL BARCELONA & AMSTERDAM

W Hotels are known for being exceptional, the ones I've been to in Amsterdam and Barcelona are great to meet friends and enjoy a beautiful view.

GIESSBACH GRAND HOTEL

Amazing place next to Interlaken, where you can get a drink and enjoy a fantastic view over Spiez lake. This also is the departure of a great walk through waterfalls in the forest.

Well guys, I hope this looong article was helpful and I see you in the next Best Spas article, I keep you posted !
