MALLORCA, 2 YEARS LATER

Hi !

This will be a small article, as I am just adding some more supplementary infos about Mallorca. There's already one existing article about the island, but I felt like I wanted to add some new addresses to it + share some cool recent experiences there.

HOTELS

Nights n.1-2-3

Nice hotel but very impersonal. The staff is very professional, we've been upgraded to a 60 m2 suite where I could do my workout in the living room while my boyfriend was sleeping (and this, is great!) for no particular reason, so this adds an advantage to this hotel ! haha

There are two outside pools, another inside one and the spa is super cute, small and well designed.

The breakfast is huge and too industrial to our tastes, working like a factory, we have to queue up for a pancake or a piece of bread...

Also, important point : the city where it is located (Platja de Muro) is quite ugly haha (sorry to say) and far from the nice southern beaches.

Nice thing was : close to Pollença city and port and to Cala Mesquida.

Nights n.4-5-6-7

O.m.g ! This hotel stole our hearts. This is the most charming place ever. Very "familial" (though it's an "adults only" hotel haha) and human sized.

We loved the city around, Bunyola, very cute and authentic.

The whole hotel is in "old" stone, the pool gives an overview on the mountains.

We had mistakenly booked a disabled people room and we found it too small, the manager offered us, for no supplementary fee a much bigger one, with a beautiful floor tiled bathroom.

Breakfast contains everything necessary and only good products, quality over quantity. You got it, the service is perfect.

Conclusion is : we loved this one much more ! haha

CITIES

POLLENÇA & POLLENÇA PORT

This city is so small and adorable, climb the stairs up to the church, it's a nice visit. Pay a visit to Nilay store if you like fashion and jewels.

Not far from the city, you'll find the port with plenty of restaurants and chill atmosphere.

City of Pollença

Pollença port

CAP DE FORMENTOR

Not a city I know, not too far from Pollença, Cap de Formentor offers a nice viewpoint (and a pretty beach down below).

PALMA

Told you about this town already, as I love it, all its small streets, cultural monuments and shopping areas.

Please don't miss Rialto Living, just to have a look, shop or have a drink in their beautiful indoor cafeteria.

DEIA

"My heart belongs to De-De-Deia"

What a pleasant town, its beauty and charm are indescriptible. I can just tell you it is such a picturesque town, authentic houses and streets, looking like it is lost in the middle of the mountains where nature is overwhelming.

VALLDEMOSSA

A must see while in Mallorca. Every single centimeter of this town is worth seeing. It's protected as a "World Heritage" city.

BEACHES

CALA MESQUIDA

Amazing large beach at the North-East of the island, with translucide water.

CALA AGULLA

Nice beach, nice water, beautiful green landscape but very touristic-ish, very close to Cala Mesquida.

CALA DEIA

Adorable typical Mediterranean creek, small and intimate with clear blue water.

CALO DES MORO (my faveee)

Wooow amazing beach that feels like Tahiti, so unmissable.

CALA S'ALMUNIA

Rock beach and fantastic water.

CALA LLOMBARDS

Sand beach, not too wide, easy to park with a car (important to precise haha), children friendly (cf : first pic of the article).

CALA GRAN

One of the beach amongst the five ones belonging to Cala D'Or. Very touristic but easy to access and clear blue water.

CALA VARQUES

This one is epic ! You'll have to walk for 45 minutes on road then trails as the car parking is located 2,7 km away from the beach. The beach is so small and you'll blend with the Mallorcan people that run away from tourists. Also, if the wind is up, the waves will be high and it's so much fun. If the sea is calm, the water is crystal clear. Just for the hiking experience and the isolated beach, I recommend you to go !

CALA PI

Okay I know, I mentioned this one a lot in my previous article already but oh, it still one of my favorite place on Earth. Cala Pi is so beautiful, inside the mountains, with a river running next to the sea. The water is turquoise, the nature, the fishermen houses, the cliffs around make this place so unique.

RESTAURANTS

Healthy food and vegetarian friendly place on Pollença port, please order the beetroot rice with teriyaki chicken, unforgettable dish to me !

Delicious Korean food in Palma, but don't go if you're too hungry : small portions !

Food is quite good but very salty. I would recommend to go there to have a drink at sunset, as the place is so charming and fancy. We attended a private Gabriel Grimaldi concert, such a lovely night.

What to say .. every single dish (and we ordered a lot!) was flavoursome, not even mentioning you get to eat in front of Deia's mountains (come early or book a table earlier cause the restaurant is quite popular), which offers a magnificent view.

I loved that evening, that restaurant, that food.

This restaurant in Santanyi is like a little garden inside a backyard, poetic decor with little lights, the service is perfect and the food : sooo tasty! Don't miss the fishbowl or the truffle pastas, don't forget to order the nut brownie at the end.

One of the only nice place in Porto Cristo (you definitely don't have to pass by this city btw) but we managed to eat a decent paella there.

This is probably the most "gourmet" restaurant we went at during the whole trip and let me tell you it was worthy. Right next to Cala Pi (perfect after a beach day, then) you'll find this small restaurant with such a creative menu, amazing food combinations, toothsome and affordable price compared to the quality and the originality of your dish. Adding to this, most of the proposed meals are healthy.

You can find much more pictures and videos about all the places I mentioned in this article in my highlight stories on my insta page :)
